Have we reach the last tape available of work or there is any problem with the splitters?
I think someone forgot to change the tapes!!!

I was wondering if anybody would notice...

Don't freak out. There was a spurious scsi/fibre channel upset on the master database last night that caused informix to crash, which in turn caused the splitters/assimilator to stop working.

This morning we started everything back up again and are now doing some database table checks before I fire up the splitters/assimilator again. Hopefully we can refill our result queue and get back up to 500,000 quickly.

When Cogent was down, were the splitters doing their job or did we run through all that work once connection was reestablished?

The databasw was restored and checked out okay. So the splitters are up and running.

A better statement would be that the db recovered rather than was restored. Informix worked inspite of flakiness of hardware. The master db as well as the online dbs for seti classic were implemented in informix.

The Boinc new development uses MySQL for its db engine and was not affected by the hardware flaking.

Looks like the splitters are only just keeping ahead of demand.

In the past 12 hours they've only managed to top-off the tank to 141K from a low of ~90K.

At this rate it's going to take several days to recover to it's healthy 500K (although I guess it'll have next week-ends outage to recover ;( )

I wonder howmany more users (or optimized clients) three splitters can support.
