Recently had to go out of town for a couple of weeks.Upon return I let my computers finish about 10 days of work units but no credit was given for them. How do I prevent this in the future. http://boinc.mundayweb.com/teamStats.php?userID=14824 |

You processed them on your return? Sounds like they expired then. The only way to avoid this in the future would be to finish the work before leaving, or leave your machine on while you're away. |

However, is there not a way to delete them before leaving on an emergency trip? Processing overdue work units is not only a waste of my computers time but also for the BOINC program. http://boinc.mundayweb.com/teamStats.php?userID=14824 |

As far as deleting work is concerned, it depends on which version of BOINC you have. Later versions: Highlight a WU and the Abort button in the left-hand pane bedomes available. Older versions: Right-click a WU and, if I recall, there will be a cancel or abort or similar in the drop-down list. As others have said, it's better to run-down your cache if you know you're going away. Better still, leave the PC on and working. |
