This is all I get from the BOINC menubar log. Anyone knows what the problem is?

You don't say which computer this is happening to, but I suspect it's the one you are running OS X 10.2.8 on and not 10.3.x - I get the same messages from both menubar and terminal when i try to run BOINC on OS X 10.2.8

The web site says it's compatible, but BOINC gives me results identical to yours above on my old iMac with 10.2.8 on it.

The same is happening with me. I'm running the simpel GUI version on a PowerMac G4 DP running 10.2.8.

Thanks. I am running 10.2.8. Good to know that it wasn't something else wrong.

There have been several attempts to compile BOINC for 10.2.x, but few successes, and what successes there were only ran on a few machines. Pretty much you would need to compile from the source code for your specific machine. The Development teams have pretty much given up on 10.2.x recently, because 10.3 and 10.4 are the more common OS versions.

If your machine can handle it, your best option is to upgrade to 10.4.x, which will also bring some noticable performance increases. I am running it on an iBook 600 with great results (at least a 15% performance increase) when combined with the latest BOINC versions or one of the optimized MacNN clients.
