Always top off your Work Unit Cache before the Weekend especially if You only like to carry a Small Cache. These outages always seem to happen before the Weekend. Friday night just Upload all your Completed Work Units and do a Manual Update. BOINC will top off your Cache for You (Give You How Ever Many Days Worth That You Selected In Your General Prefs). Hopefully that will be enough to hold You over till Monday. For Multiple Project people, You will always have work from your other projects to keep You busy when SETI BOINC is down so this may not apply. For the SETI ONLY people (People Who Only Currently Do SETI And Are In A Points Race With Other Crunchers For SETI ONLY Credits) this is a MUST. You let your computer go Idle for the Weekend and the Smart Cruncher who Cached a Weekends worth will Pass You By. |

If you crunch more than one project, and you're using one of the 4.3x BOINC clients, a weekend outage just adds "DEBT" to any project that's down, and you'll process more of that project when they come back -- until they're caught up. |
