Now 4 servers are down... including 2 x validators. Can it get any worse..??
Well it's only two now. Either someone is fixing things, or the status is reporting inaccurately, which could be if those processes are not responding to status enquiries due to load I guess. |

Don't Know about the size issue :-) , Does it really matter, but I do know that work units are building up at an alarming rate on my harddrive. I get new ones no problem, but since the last outage of the server I can't return any results, making the whole thing a bit pointless. I haven't been on BONIC very long, but had a few years crunching using seti@home classic. SETI@home member since 30 Dec 1999 SETI@home classic workunits as of 15 March 2005 2,026 SETI@home classic CPU time as of 15 March 2005 9,644 hours BOINC Total credit 3,123.85 Recent average credit 103.75 The thing that comes to mind at the moment is, if I am prepared to donate all this CPU time then surely it not too much to ask that things run a little smoother. For the meantime I am suspending seti@home and devoting 100% CPU time to Climateprediction as that seems to be a lot more stable. Maybe I will resume seti@home BOINC later to check if things are working again. who knows?. The whole idea was to install this on my system and have it run as a background service, not have to keep checking the dam thing to make sure it wasn't eating Diskspace/Bandwidth as well as CPU time. |

Anyone know what happend an hour ago? The graphs spiked when the link came back up, and went back down as they normally do. But an hour ago, they spiked again, more than the fist time. What's the deal? |

All uploads / downloads working fine... well, not really... downloads seem to work, most of the time, some get started, some stop, retry again later. uploads are a bit worse than downloads, which is understandable given Neds input earlier. It is just that the servers are probably taxed, trying to catch up to everyone, especially since it is now morning in east US, and the eastern Americans are seeing it start, and continuing to hit retry, retry, retry.... Don't worry, it will work itself out through the day today. Either way, just KEEP ON CRUNCHIN' I have predictor and einstein as backups, reason for two, is one of them is down periodically also. But that is life, Either way... well, you know the words, look a few lines up, or down Thanks, and Keep on crunchin' John Henry KI4JPL Sevierville TN I started with nothing, and I still have some of it left. |
