The folks on Sky & Telescope Team are the greatest; but it suddenly occurred to me that I do not satisfy the membership criteria "staff and readers." Alas, although once long ago I had a subscription (I was 17 or 18) I no longer follow the publication nor do I practice amateur astronomy. If the description said: "Folks who think Sky and Telescope Magazine is a really great Publication" I would come back or something. That's it. Sincerely, "tuna, charles"

Maybe it's just me, but i'm pretty sure the folks at Sky and Telescope don't really give a crap whether you're a current subscriber or not. You've supported them in the past, and they probably just appreciate your points, fella. I'm not a paying member of the Planetary Society at the moment given that i'm a student and just don't have the extra bucks right now. But i can certainly still support their team here at SETI and help promote awareness of the organization. :)

AGREED!! I am a membor of The Final Front Ear, we started out as a bunch of old Classic Carolyn's Clinic crunchers. We will take you, even if you have never even heard of us, I am SURE your old Team feels the same!
BUT if you do go back to Classic, who would, but IF you do AND you join Carolyn's Clinic, watch out for the MeatBalls!!!!!

I'm sure the Sky and Telescope guys don't mind either, however, when I created my team, I made it fairly wide open. On my team's website it says you can join if you are a resident of B.C., previously were, or even just want to be! Makes it easy. (And, we need more members than just yours truly! =)

The same could be said of script kiddies and wannabes trying to join team 2600.
My hat is off to you for doing the right thing.

I presume that 2600's member(s) is/are subscribers.
If not for TFFE, I may have joined.

Must say I agree with Digger. At least ask if it's ok that you're a member of their team

I definitely see your point NA. I guess it depends largely on how strictly the team founder wants to interpret the rules for joining. I joined the Planetary Society team because Clay Ruth had an open call for new crunchers, I'm a big Carl Sagan fan, and I believe in the work the organization does. When I get some extra bucks I'll pay for a membership, but for now I can still support the team and show my interest. :)

Good points made by everybody.

Happy Crunching!

It is simply a matter of ethics: Even if unenforced, a rule is a rule. The only
rules that ought be broken are broken rules (i.e.: RIAA/P2P BS and
intellectual property insanity).
