Well, in the 4.35 thread I just stated that it seemed to be working better IMO after a week, and all I needed was somePPAH WUs.

I downloaded and intalled 4.36 without issue. It immediately d/led 11 PPAH WU, 1 more Seti WU, and 10 more LHC. I now have a nice mix from all projects.

thanks

Continuing to monitor this new critter.

Oh yeah,,,,, WARNING Boinc Core Client Version 4.36 is developmental, can do strange if not harmful things to your puter. Stick with the "Official" release if you're squimish or don't understand how to fix broken puters.

Hi Tony,

Did you need to un-install 4.35 or just stop it install over the top?

Just install over the top...works a treat...I also got pred and einstein work. Now to see if it plays fair.

Hi Tony,

I followed the previous instructions, Close all IE windows (signed off web), uninstall 4.35, install 4.36.

tony

[edit]the uninstall part (i think) is required when going from 4.19 and earlier to the 4.20 and greater, Rom mentioned something in the 4.35 thread(if I remember correctly) about some MS API interference being the reason to close IE windows. I just played it safe and did both.[end edit]

Yep installed fine here...Upon running proceeded to dl a bunch of new WUs from variety of projects (9 from an alpha project, 25 LHC, 1 SETI, 1 E@H). At least i won't have my PC running half idle now. Or at least not til these WU's are done and it still won't get more. But we'll see, time will tell.

i just went from 4.35 to 4.36 and i don't know why, but my statistics tab is empty. Does it clear each time a new version is installed? in this case, a continous overview of stats change is not possible.

P.S: I installed the new version right over the older one.

I noticed the same thing as B-Roy. I'm just assuming that the stats are cleared and it needs two points (two days) to make a line.

/also installed overtop

Hi All,
It must be an inherent problem, because it is the same here..no prject stats. I have updated all projects without Stats showing so it must take some time.

Respectfully,

Same here, but at least we can say that if some of the bugs from 4.35 are gone now, the stats is a minor bug in comparison.

That's just a snippet of what's going on in 4.36
It keeps on asking for more work for a project, not a clue which one. An exit and restart of BOINC starts with the same message again.

Message 107760 - Posted: 5 May 2005, 15:11:20 UTC

I'm running 4.30 (dev version no longer listed)

In order to go to 4.36 it wants me to uninstall 4.30, then install 4.36.

Do I need to backup my progress? Or just let it rip?

I've got 7 projects running, that's why I'm concerned about losing progress.

Any help is greatly appreciated :-)

Just uninstall 4.30 through Add/Remove programs. Then install 4.36
You won't lose any work.

I have always just installed over top of my current version without problems. Just make sure you shut down BOINC before doing any upgrading.

If you have any doubts, don't upgrade. Wait until the discussion threads have turned over for a while and see if there are any problems with the new version.

The only times you really have to upgrade are when the projects require it or you're current BOINC client is giving BOINC-related errors.

Okay, found the culprit. It was the last project I attached to a couple of days ago: crashcollection. Have now detached from it and the insufficient work message won't show every second anymore.

Yup, according to John the bug fix to stop the client getting multiple CPDN WU's is shutting out access to the crash collection project.

I will always uninstall if I have that option, just seems the logical thing to do.....

Kudos to John and the rest of the Devs, appears 4.36 is a winner.

Now I have a request, is it possible to put back the sort function for the deadline column......
