I have been having trouble connecting to schedulers almost continuously since the outage; I still have probably 40 WU's locally waiting to be uploaded. There does seem to be some connectivity as occasionally I do get uploads to go through, but most connections just fail with "No schedulers responded."

But hey, at least the validator is caught up!

>Boincs growing pains have infected the seti crunchers and the few I converse with have some angst about the average amount of time that is spent in idle.
the measure of the activity is based on the down time we are spending and the loss of data crunching that is lost due to it..
I remember the earlier days of classic seti and they were not any better, but then it was only a few of us crunching. now there are millions of us and the system is not up to it at Berkeley. some day in the near future I hope, the system will be up and running as we would all like it to be but do not hold your breath till then!

I think the first post of this thread will give us some guidance in this downtime:

I was not trying to complain about the state of things; I have in fact had very little downtime recently. My apologies if it came across that way. I was merely trying to determine if there was a known problem currently, or if we the servers are just overloaded at this point.

Do you have your cache set for a few days? That's a great way to not even notice outages like these. Also, do you run other projects? That's another great way to keep crunching when Seti is down. FOR SCIENCE!

Hey Matt keep cool.
You should stop atacking people wich only run seti as a boinc project.
If they don´t like the other projects you cannot force them to do so ;)

Keep cool? All I did was suggest that he increase his cache or run more projects.

Go here and set the "Connect to Server..." setting to some higher number. The default is 2 days.

Increase the connect to number and read the docs.
