I've upgraded a couple of Win2k boxes running Seti/BOINC from PII to PIII, new computers have been created on my account, but I don't seem to be able to merge them with their old identities. When I click on 'merge this host' the list of computers is empty, so there's nothing to merge with. I've done this in the past and don't recall any problems. Is 'merge' working ATM?

The alternative is just to delete the old host names, if I do this do I lose or keep the credit they've accumulated.

The computers you want to merge have to be near enough identical, this merging facility is really for when the system creates 'ghost' computers, allowing you to collect all the identities together, and tidy up your account. A P2 and P3 aren't similar enough for the system to acknowledge that they are the same machine.

However, I've just switched on hyperthreading on one of my hosts, you'd think the system would sulk a bit, but, no, it's as happy as ever, it just updated the details that it had on file for that host.

Re. your credit, the host concerned has earned it, your credit total won't diminish if you delete the old host, but, you won't (shouldn't) be able to delete a host if it has any results outstanding. Wait for the results to 'time out' before attempting to delete the host.
