Firewall problems at Berkeley preventing up and down loads....the Berkeley support team are aware and are on to it and hope to have it going again soon. Good on 'em and good luck to 'em. Cheers all. There will be a news item soon.

open up 137 and 138 udp ports and 139 tcp.

Yes it is a joke. BOINC needs port 80 http for internet connections and 1043 for communication between the manager and client. There is also a 5 digit port for client-manager communications but I can't remember.

The port was 31416 [now deprecated for 1043]. It was chosen for its similarity to a πumber nobody could possibly forget.

v4.35 will try both ports, since sometimes other services is occupying port 1043.
