I'll try and answer my own question...

My guess is that Berkeley is broke....

Last night when the system came-up, there were Zero 'Vaiting for Validation', now it's over 2,000.

So some work must have got through, but it's not getting validated - IIRC normal waiting figure is single digits.

I've seen this number as high as 278,000, no problem yet.

I saw that they where going to do some work. So I downloaded sooooo many WU's that by the time the system comes back up...I should be #1. Be scared....I'm coming for you...hahaha

OK. I mailed the network support people at Berkeley just to let them know about this problem - they probably know already but just to make sure. An unwelcome start to their day I guess.

I'm certain this is not the European problem......someone just left the switch off after yesterday's works.
