Hi, Ive just downloaded the boinc program for the seti@home project but for some reason it doesn't start. It says boinc is not running on the screensaver but it is. There is no project running and I am guessing that this is the problem. I click on Attach a new prject and it asks for a url and key ... it says to go to the boinc website to get these but I cant find them. How do i add the seti program to boinc to?
Any info on this would be excellent.

Hi pal, I assume you've only downloaded the BOINC bit. BOINC doesn't contain any projects, it's just the engine for running them.

You need to go here:
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/create_account_form.php
to create your SETO account to run on BOINC. It will send you an email with the information you need to copy into the little dialog box that comes up when you click on "Attach a new project" in BOINC.

Let me know how you get on. :)

Another fine reading is this:
The (very good) manual for Boinc is the BOINC Powered Projects Documentation by Paul D. Buck and the FAQ therein.

And, before the next questions occur:

For information regarding Credits look here!

The process of getting it all to Berkeley is a two step operation.
Look here @Pauls ;)

For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki

I assume you got it working. Let us know. We don't like to leave our wounded behind. Welcome to Boinc. With an Atlon 64 3500 you'll be racking up WUs in no time.
I have a comunity Link site for SETI@Home that has some more links for help on Boinc:
[url=http://www.terrorhertz.com/seti/linkster.php]SetiLinks<a>

If you or anyone else find any other sites for helping others that you'd like to add to the list then click "Add a Link" at the top of the page.

I think Paul's site will help a lot. he is very recommended here in the forums and puts a lot of work into the site .
