This is what it looks like for the last 10 hours.
I run BOINC client version 4.25 for windows_intelx86 and using setiathome version 4.09.
What is wrong, can I do something about it?

I think we all have the problem. Network or firewall problem probably. No route through at the moment.

The server at Berkeley was down for a while, they were doing some work on the database.

You are not alone in having this "problem". And there is nothing wrong with your computer.

There is simply a backlog of work to be turned in and requests for more work from a large number of users. The server is just overwhelmed with requests. This is a normal situation after an outage and it may take several hours to clear up.

Relax you will eventually get some more work.

I think the guys at Berkeley must have fubar'd something without realizing it.

If they don't notice in about 8 hours from now, you can expect this thing to come back up on Monday....

The waiting to be validated is also rising (so some WU are getting back to Berkeley).

What I think is happening, is they put the replicator back on, so it's taking most of the processes to do a full replication. This could actually take days (I think it took a few days the last time). Some results will trickle in, but for the most part they will not, and the validator will grow for a while, until everything is synced up again, and the systems can flow as normal.

If you notice, there is no updates on the main page or the technical page, which means they either knew something was up and was waiting to tell us, or they forgot (which is my guess).

I wouldn't mind if I had 2100 failed uploads. I just want to be able to download so I can crunch! The uploads will happen eventually but this is time wasted!

You could set a bigger cache. I use 10 days on the basis I know my PCs will get through them all beofre the average expiry date. I have 50 results to go back right now but over 280 in the cache. Try it when we get back online

Copied from my post on the the European network problems thread.

OK. I mailed the network support people at Berkeley just to let them know about this problem - they probably know already but just to make sure. An unwelcome start to their day I guess.

I've been wanting to do this for a while but I haven't been able to find the doc's on how to do this. If's it's in my prefs... I can't find it. Can you point me to some FAQ's or just tell me where I can mod my cache?

In your account. Click General Preferences. You'll find it there....under network usage I think it is. Anyhow edit your prefernces and change it. Max 10 but defaults as I recall to 0.1 days. I use 10. Cheers
