I've just recently learned how to queue up more work units....ok. But I have only one that really does any work. 4hrs. Now the rest (5) say that the time to complete is around 7hrs. They were all completed in less than 200secs each. And the string that they have were all very similar. Maybe I should have a queue of 10 or so? The reason behind having a large queue is so that I dont have to put up with the constant "No scheduler" msg. Whats your feeling about this? Does anyone think this is fishy? Hi I had a couple of thouse noisy WUs last night about 10 or so was under 300 seconds. Thats why i have set my connect to every 6 days, so i have ca 30 WUs in my cache. I make 8 WUs a day 6 x 8 = 48 but get only 32. The time to comlete in the manager is calculated by the client and it allways higher in seti as it really needs. So when you want to have 2 days worth you have to set 3 days. greetz Mike With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

One of the 'problems' is, that Seti calculates the cache size with the estimated time, not with your average time. Estimated time with my machine: 6.5h, crunchtime: 3.5-4h. So my cache will be always a bit short here, BUT on Einstein: est.: 9h, real:9.5h, and a shorter deadline. So beware of too big cache settings ;) Gruesse vom Saenger For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki |
