I joined BOINC and S@H a couple of days ago to give my puter something useful to do for a change LOL

I am totally confuzzled by all the figures and stuff.

I seem to be averaging 12 work units of 11,500 sumfinks (avg) per day. 2 hours (avg) per unit.

Is there any kind of average I should be looking for?

Welcome, Ziggie!

There's no general average. It all depends on your computer. When it comes to granted credits, it also depends on other people's computers.

However, I can say that you're doing pretty well with those figures. Myself, I have an AMD 2500+ CPU and 1 GB RAM, and it crunches one WU in about 13,500 seconds (about 3,5 hours per WU).

See also Paul D. Buck's excellent BOINC documentation.

Hello and welcome ziggie,

as Bjorn said:
The (very good) manual for Boinc is the BOINC Powered Projects Documentation by Paul D. Buck and the FAQ therein.

For information regarding Credits look here!

For more statistic stuff, click my left banner, but you have to wait 'til you got the first granted credit, and then another ~24h for Willy to update the export files.

Happy crunching!

you're doing great....
I've got 6 computers doing nothing but Seti, on 24/7
2 of them are dual CPU servers....
and with your one machine, you're completing work units faster than I am,
