I have swapped over to BOINC but can anyone tell me if credits earned on BOINC will relate to Classic work units completed in anyway. Like everybody else, I worked hard at getting a good score of completed work units and will be sorry if they do not count in any way. I'm sure that this point is documentated somewhere but I can't seem to find it

Your old completed work units show up on your "Your Account" page, but they do not affect your BOINC totals, everyone starts from scratch in BOINC. It is kind of too bad, but on the other hand a lot of people took their machines off the old SETI@home to run BOINC beta testing for many months, it would be kind of a shame for them to be left behind in the credit race because they switched over early to help get this running (and in case you're wondering, their scores from Beta testing have all been wiped out too, they are also starting from scratch). It will be kind of nice to start everything from the beginning, it'll be a bit more fun trying to get to the front of the pack and stay there, where as with the old project there was basically no chance for someone relatively new to the project to ever hope of climbing up to the front of the ranks.

Actually, I don't think the Beta database was reset... I still have my total points and RAC from both /ap/ and also /boinc_alpha/ ... I think this was the only database reset. :-)

My question is that I had 780 wu done in classic but 701 is showing on the new BOINC website. Will this number be updated?

Maybe. But certainly only after S@H is completely closed.

So there's no definative answer as to whether the 'classic results' number will be updated? My classic stats listed on my BOINC account are several thousand WU behind what is listed in the 'current stats' for the classic SETI. (whew, this is getting confusing) If not...one might as well completely switch over to BOINC....if not there are some who might still have some goals they wish to reach before 'classic seti' completely shuts down.

Same thing.
I had 767 results in classic
( http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/fcgi-bin/fcgi?email=cxell@yahoo.com&cmd=user_stats_new ) but
only 722 was shown in BOINC stats.

There WILL be a place on the Boinc boards that show your credit when the Seti Classic ends. Whether that will be updated in between now and then is not known, I would guess not, since at the end is when it really matters.

*sigh* I sure hope there will be an update.

401 (as shown in BOINC) vs. roughly 1400 is quite a difference.
