Hi to everybody!
I am using a notebook with the above mentioned processor and several testing tools tell me, that this processor does support hyperthreading. But BOINC does not initiate two separate calculations, although preferences are set to use every processor he finds.

Can anybody give me a hint what's wrong?

Does the task manager show 2 CPUs in the performace tab? If not you may need to make an adjustment in the BIOS.

I am confused though. The pentium M chips do not do hyperthreading, but I didn't think any of them ran as fast as 2.2 ghz.

No, task manager shows just one CPU. Have to look at the BIOS.

Sorry , I may have confused you. I wasn't precise enough. Actually, the CPU is a Pentium 4 Mobile , not a Pentium M. I apologise.

Hi
As far as I am aware no HT sorry. Read the sSpec string off the CPU chip and go to this site. Put the string in the box and click. It will you you whether its HT definitively. http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/default.asp. Bet $10 its not. Cheers

Pentium M chips do not support Hyper Threading. The good news is that they do crunch Seti@Home very well, especially the 2MB L2 cache versions. Which testing tools are you using that tell you it supports HT?
