In my account under view results, there is claimed credit and granted credit. What are these?

Sometimes I get granted credit the same as claimed credit. But sometimes the granted credit is less then the claimed credit. Why is that?

I know it takes me a longer time to compute as I have a win98 PII 450MHz.Does this effect the kind of credit recieved?

Thierry,Thanks I really have to read thru this manual.
I took some algebra and calculus way back when but for the life of me don't understand the math behind it.I will take SETI's word for it.
Thanks again Joe K from the USA

Credit hummm well I think it works like this if there are 3 then the middle credit is used if there are 4 then the high and low are throw out and the middle two are averaged, or so I think.

So long Paul, it has been a hell of a ride.

Park your ego's, fire up the computers, Science YES, Credits No.

Actually for quroms of 3 and up results the high and low are discarded then the rest are averaged. For quroms of 2 and lower the lowest claim is used. There was an update that may change this by discarding any claim less than or equal to zero. Once credit is granted the same amount is given to all work returned afterwards that is not overdue.
