Under "messages" it says "resuming computation and network activity". The problem is that it won't resume. It's been this way for a couple of days. There are work units that are complete but not reported. I just downloaded BOINC a week ago. I am pretty much a novice. Can someone advise me how to get this running again? Thanks Bonnie Jean |

You could try stopping BOINC, un-installing and then re-installing the project. This should leave any work units you have intact. If that does not work, you might have to detach from the project and re-attach. But this will delete all work units you have not reported. ------------------------- Just had another Idea. If you go to the SETI@home website, then go into the "YOUR ACCOUNT" page. Now selet "View or Edit General Preferences". Have you go the "Do work while computer is in use?" set to no? If so, this why it is likely going into suspending Boinc when you are looking at it. This means stop boinc when any user input is detected. So soon as you move the mouse BOINC suspends. If you do not want this then change "Do work while computer is in use?" to yes. Are you running as a service? Because if you are I believe that "Do work while computer is in use?" does not work correctly and it has to be set to YES. You need a second life? Seconlife.com |

Hello Bonnie Jean, how big is your cache? The report will be done, when the next fresh WUs are needed, or 1 day before the deadline will struck. Or you can manually update the project, then the report will be done as well. The data are already in Berkeley, as the upload is a two-step operation: 1. UL the data to the database 2. report this to the scheduler and claim credit BTW: The (very good) manual for Boinc is the BOINC Powered Projects Documentation by Paul D. Buck and the FAQ therein.
