Hi,

has anyone problems with Windows Server 2003 SP1 and Boinv Version 4.25?

Without SP1 my Boinc 4.25 runs fine, after installing SP1 Boinc will start but then the process frozen and i must kill it. Reinstall doesn't work. Now i turned back to 4.19 and all runs fine.

Hi there,

do take note that ver 4.25 came before Win2k3 SP1. Stick to 4.19 if it runs fine to you... not much of a major changes in 4.25 anyway....

Ran into the same problem when I updated my W2K3 Server to SP1; had to uninstall BOINC 4.25 and reinstall 4.19, and now I'm crunching again. Looks like I'll stick with 4.19 until they come up with a solution to the 4.25 problem with W2K3 SP1.

It's odd - but there must be a way of getting to work.

I read that Rom Waltons' development machine is Win2K3 with SP1 - BOINC & SETI are runing fine there.

Wonder if its some kind of firewall issue?

I had the exact same issue - I had to uninstall 4.25, reinstalled 4.19 which works. However, 4.19 does not work with boincview, so on a whim a couple of days later I uninstalled 4.19 and installed 4.25 - it's working - weird! I have also loaded 4.25 on another W2K3 SP1 box without problems.

4.25 and 4.09 fine with my Win2003 enterprise server SP1. Understand there are probs with SP2 but not found any with SP1.
