The scheduler is responding now. I just got some new workunits. There will be a backlog for awhile as everyone fills up their cache. Still no word on what the problem was.

I believe there's a congestion problem at the moment

The congestion was probably due to the automatic downloading of the 4.09 seti application program to all of the current users.
There was a similar congestion when they upgraded to 4.10.
To bad it didn't fix the problem.

I've been able to download a couple of work units, though they took several attempts to complete. It's getting there...

A good indicator of congestion is BOS switching from Unreachable to Online and back while the scheduler status here says Running ;)

To tell the truth I didn't really notice any problems with uploads or downloads of work units when 4.10 came in and I had few 4.09 units after the switch back go through before the scheduler stopped responding and that was quite pronounced as I looked at it from about 8.00pm 04.04.05 Perth WA time UTC+8 hrs (even though they say +7hrs, daylight savings?) and again at 4.30am 05.04.05 my time and the schedulers still were not responding, who knows what happened apart from what you can see on boincstats about scheduler status as Berkely haven't posted anything about congsetion on the front page apart from that it was going back to 4.09? but it was the weekend so hey I don't like to say it but Einstien was having fun!!

The scheduler is denying you a connection because it thinks you are asking again too soon. This is most common when you first attach to a project or when the server is under load ...

I uploaded results about 12 hr ago. Boinc has been trying since then to download some new WU. Getting nothing but
Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed
No schedulers responded
messages.
No big deal, I got plenty of other projects to keep the CPU busy. I just find it strange, since I don't see problems posted on the home or status pages. Can someone tell me, is the server down?

Yeah not a big deal as I have enough in my cache to keep going, would be nice if we could find out if it was a server/netwok fault as I keep thinking its mine!

Cheers

I did a "Project Update" and go this:

4/7/2005 12:31:08 AM|SETI@home|Sending request to scheduler: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi
4/7/2005 12:31:11 AM|SETI@home|Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded

I did it again just now and got:

4/7/2005 1:13:03 AM|SETI@home|Sending request to scheduler: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi
4/7/2005 1:13:05 AM|SETI@home|Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded

I don't have any finished work to send or report, but I connected.

Master fetch failed usually means I'm not connected to the internet.

hope this helps

UPDATE...

Boinc just made a connection with Seti and D/L a single WU. I usually get 2 or 3.

edit... I just checked it
In 7 min its already done 25%. Normal WU usually take 4 to 6 hr. I guess this one won't last long.

Well, I've got one running and one ready, which is normal for my settings.

As an experiment the other day, I changed "connect every 'x' days" to 3 and got a bunch of work, then set it back to .25 and now it's caught up.

I crunch other projects so I don't need a big cache to stay busy.
