I would like to have a little bit more control over the merging of computers. Over the weekend I overclocked one of my computers (AMD Athlon 2400+) to do some video capture/compression for a friend and decided to let it process SETI data when wasn't processing video. In the process of getting my computer to run stabily, BOINC autoran and contacted the BOINC servers before I could close it and created two Athlon XP 2800+ computers. The merge computer utility allowed me to merge the two "2800+" computers but I cannot merge the 2400+ to the 2800+ even though they are the same computer. I know that there are plenty of overclockers who use SETI as it gives them a great arena to push the limits of their computers and a great many of them would probably appreciate a little more freedom in merging computers.
