For some reason Pirates has taken over Seti in BOINC. Do I have to detach from the second Pirates? Hate to lose 4 wu's. |

Pirates does not do any real scientific work anyway, so why worry about 4 of their WUs? L8R.... You may have to finish up those WUs and reset the project, but first; try closing the boinc mgr (not just to the taskbar) for a bit, and then re-starting it. <img border="0" src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=567" /> <a href="http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page">BOINC Wiki</a> <a href="http://www.tamaness.hostrocket.com/BOINC_team.html">Gideontech BOINC team!</a> |

ThePhantom86 is the one seeking info about Pirates. I don't and won't crunch Pirates. L8R.... After upgrading to Boinc CC4.26. My Projects tab showed: Einstein@home LHC@home LHC@home (should be Pirates@home) LHC@home (should be PPAH) Seti@home Even the WUs read wrong like: LHC@home Mfold B125 4.24 etc I tried everything, but only Detach/reattached worked. I reported the Bug to the Devs. tony |

Sometimes Boinc misreports the project name, and you'll have 2 projects with the same name show up in your list. Was just responding to the thread in general, but also to your post -- those are, and no matter what name the mgr reports, will be seti units (unless it reports being crunched with pirates software). <img border="0" src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/stats.php?userID=567" /> <a href="http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page">BOINC Wiki</a> <a href="http://www.tamaness.hostrocket.com/BOINC_team.html">Gideontech BOINC team!</a> |

It showed Pirates as the project but using the Seti app to crunch. I was just asking if there was a way to fix this so the wu's wouldn't go to waste. |

Tried to report them, didn't work. Said it was missing account key so I just detached and reattached. |

Same thing happened to me in one host. It is attached to SETI & CPDN. Boinc 4.25, W2K All the Seti units appeared as CPDN units. The problem was that some parts of the Seti section of the client_state.xml got overwritten by CPDN data. These are the places where it happened: "master_url"http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/"/master_url" "project_name"climateprediction.net"/project_name" "user_name"rsisto"/user_name" "team_name"Boinc@Uruguay"/team_name" "email_hash""/email_hash" "cross_project_id""/cross_project_id" "user_total_credit"88230.178109"/user_total_credit" "user_expavg_credit"449.188815"/user_expavg_credit" "user_create_time"1059583436.000000"/user_create_time" "rpc_seqno"1892"/rpc_seqno" "hostid"323863"/hostid" "host_total_credit"0.000000"/host_total_credit" "host_expavg_credit"0.000000"/host_expavg_credit" "host_create_time"0.000000"/host_create_time" "exp_avg_cpu"38349.616107"/exp_avg_cpu" "exp_avg_mod_time"1112167936.718750"/exp_avg_mod_time" "nrpc_failures"3"/nrpc_failures" "master_fetch_failures"0"/master_fetch_failures" "min_rpc_time"1112190632.375000"/min_rpc_time" "debt"5720.975868"/debt" "resource_share"100.000000"/resource_share" "scheduler_url"http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi"/scheduler_url" "scheduler_url"http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi"/scheduler_url" "code_sign_key" 1) It changed the project name 2) added a new sheduler_url line I edited the project name and deleted the extra scheduler line and all worked again. This is a known issue, and should be fixed in 4.28. Meanwhile, you can do a bit of surgery on the client_state.xml file. I believe that you will find an extraneous <scheduler_url> tag with the offending project. The correct project should be the next line. Instructions: Stop BOINC edit the client_state.xml file Remove the offending line(s) save start BOINC. Let me know how it comes out. BOINC WIKI |

Thanks rsisto and John McLeod VII. It happened again on another computer and this fixed it. |
