A participant on another msg board claims that he keeps getting this project ("http://maggie.ssl.berkeley.edu/client_test/") popping up on his system. Even after detaching from it, he says it re-appears in BOINC after a re-boot. The URL seems to exist - at least IE starts to d/l then just sits there doing nothing - others report 404 error. Inquiring minds want to know. |

maggie was our alpha/beta test system back in the day. Not sure why this user can't let go of it, but this machine has been off (and buried under other junk) for over a year now. - Matt -- BOINC/SETI@home network/web/science/development person -- "Any idiot can have a good idea. I would bet that he had a space in the URL when he attached to that project way back when. In that case a simple detach may not work because the client will not delete the account*.xml file(s) that it should. He needs to detach, exit the client, and delete all account*maggie*.xml file(s). It should not automatically attach when it is restarted after that. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |
