I have signed up a few days ago and already earned my first credits. But I don't have a user password and when I click on "If you don't know your password, click here" I get told that there is no user with my email account.

I have a feeling you are going to the Classic site to request a password. There is no place on the BOINC site to request a password. On the BOINC pages you can request an account key. You have a SETI BOINC account, not a Classic account. You have your account key or else you wouldn't be able to attach to the project or post here.

Well, maybe you're right, and I wondered what being a user actually maent. But in the BOINC Manager, when you click in the project website link, you are referred to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ and there is a user section where you can login to your user account, using a password. When signing up however, I received an account key but not a password.

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ is the website of S@H Classic. The password you receive their is only for S@H Classic.

OK, thanks everyone, it's clear now.
So the Seti project link in the BOINC manager (or the Seti website) is out of date ...

Actually, you have it backward. The site http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ will eventually be the site of BOINC S@H after classic is shut down in a month or two.
