I have power only to one side of my house. Transformer blew. As for now we ae only connecting 2 PCs and the TV/DVD/VCR/.
My concern is the WUs that I had processeing on the other boxes. By not getting them in in time it will prolong validation for others.
I have 3 days worth of WUs for each PC.
I would like to let the servers know that they need to resend the WUs and know that I can't get them done in time.
I have Linux and Windows boxes. Linux w/ command line and windows w/ the Gui but no screensaver.
will. ./boinc/ - reset_project with the URL let them know to reissue the WU's?
Bottom Line: What should I do?

Don't sweat it. They'll get redistributed anyway after they time out.Even on a reset the WUs time out before resend. No Worries.

I know they will be resent. but I would like to shorten the delay for others.
normally the server will have to wait till the deadline then reserve the WU. this keeps others waiting for validation. I don't want others waiting on me while my system is down

If boinc doesn't have such a feature then I gues I should recommend it.

I think "don't sweat it" still applies... There are a LOT more work units that will time out than yours. Besides, seti is sending work units out to 4 people now anyway so as long as the other 3 people get theirs in, there will be no delay in credit granting.

However, as of BOINC 2.25, there is a "abort result" function. It is on the work tab of the manager app. I'm not sure if a project reset will "abort" all the work units in queue or not. In theory it should but who knows :)

To use that, he's going to have to get power to the machines, so he can go into BOINC.

I agree, don't sweat it. If the transformer is fixed in time, then life will be good, and if not, life will go on.
