Hello there everybody and especially JavaPersona: I've noticed, that sometimes the German or European sense of humor or sarcasm or irony is misinterpreted by several American folks ( especially JavaPersona, no pun intended (really!) ) here on the board. With this thread i want to make clear, that with my (sometimes ironical and sarcastical) postings, i'm not attacking any American person, or any person having to do with any American society. I'm only expressing my own solely opinion of the sometimes frustrating / disgusting / peeving / etc. situations. As JavaPersona stated, that i would not bash out the same way, if SETI would be run by a honored, well known university in Germany, i can only say: I would bash out the absolute same way, maybe even harder, cause the origin or the affiliation has absolutely nothing to do with the project itself! And if you look in the other boards, e.g. Einstein@Home, wich is run partially in Germany, i bash out the absolute same way, when something goes wrong. Over there they have no problem with my kind of commentary. Please don't get my postings the wrong way, or as we say in German: "Krieg das nicht in den falschen Hals!" My own translation, cause i didn't get one on the net: "Don't get it in the wrong throat!" So to everyone: I like the idea of distributed computing, but please let me and others express their ideas and critizisms, cause it'll be good for the main goal! @JavaPersona: Peace! OK? ;) Aloha, Uli |

Naw, means to me "Don't take it the wrong way" which equates very well with "Went down the wrong way" when you choke on something, ie, went down the wrong throat, so I think it is a reasonable saying! ;-))) |
