Hey all, I have the ati 9500 256 mb graphic card also, and have never had a problem until a few days ago. I haven't done any changes to my cpu in any way, but now the screensaver locks and I have to shut down and restart my computer. It does not happen every time.

Hi Rom, This is James. As stated many times: I have stopped running SETI-BOINC because it doesn't work properly for me. I have an ATI 9550 Graphics cars with 256 MG DDR RAM on the card, I'm using there version 5.8,the control panel version of the program, not the "Catalyst Control Panel" as it is still the only version of there driver software that works for me that is mostly stable. I'm using two operating systems on my machine. Only one at a time as depending on my boot-up selection. Win98SE, or WinXP_with_SP2 version 2002 (the combined version ), 1 Gigabyte of 133Mhz RAM. I think it is (Check-it says DIMM) RAM, My Motherboard is ASUS P3V4X, with a Slot 1 processor: Genuine Intel 605E @ 605Mhz Does that help? If they fix the SETI-BOINC so it works I'll be happy again. Thanks in Advance for Your Assistance in fixing the present BOINC problems for all, and not just me. All thow I will be happy that it will finally work. Please leave the old SETI running till you fix SETI-BOINC, so I can still runn the program. It may not be perfect for all, but it runs without a hitch. It (SETI CLASSIC) makes no excuses why it can't start, just starts from the get-go. Thanks Again.

Which version of BOINC manager are you using???

My BOINC information is(This is the file name copied from the download): boinc_5.2.13_windows_intelx86.exe
As you most likely know. I have suspended BOINC use at present, as I am not able to have it run without it causing computer system problems as stated before in previous messages. Thank You in Advance for Your Assistance, and eventual fixing of the program so people with older computers like mine can participate again.

my system:
ati radeon 9250
driver 6.14.10.6553
matherboard Asus P5P800
CPU Intel Pentium4 540 family

BOINC 5.2.13
seti running
clima prediction running
LHC running (last 15 days without work)
einstein running
all the tatest versions

everithing works fine but 2:
1. sometimes after resuming screensever the screen devis context (screen DC) seems not to be released: the last picture of the screen saver gets stuck, muose is invisible and I can't interact with the machine, but if 1 suspend and resume the system a error dialog appears (memory xxx could not be read) and I keep on working.
2. not important: when I start the system the BOINC window appears and disappers, but the BOINC button in the task bar don't disappear, so I ahe to recall BOINC from the tray icon and close the window, so also the task bar butto disappear.
bye guys
