Running all projects with their latest apps under Windows
Running CPDN Hadsm3_4.11 under Linux
No problem on CC4.19 or CC4.25 under Win, and CC4.27 under Nux.

Graphic card : Ati Radeon 9000 Family
Driver date : 20/06/2002
Driver version : 6.13.10.6102

P4 2Ghz 256Mb, Dual-boot: Win XP SP1 & Mandrake 10.0
P4E 3Ghz HT 512Mb, Dual-boot: Win XP SP1 & Suse 9.2

Note that a member of CPDN Alpha who couldn't see the CPDN viz downgraded to driver version 6118 (the closest available to 6102, year 2002) and he can see the CPDN Alpha viz now.

The BOINC Manager 4.25 is configured to run after ten minutes of idle user activity and to use the minimalist graphics. BOINC is also configured to run as the screensaver. When BOINC runs, a message saying it is downloading graphics appears and then the screen goes blank.

The previous version of BOINC did not have this problem. It displayed the graphics while running as a screensaver.

BOINC 4.26
SETI@Home 4.09 - works fine
CPDN 4.10 - no graphics
Einstein@Home 4.79 - no graphics

Powermagic Radeon 8500LE 128MB, Windoze XP fully patched.

Any chance of getting some debugging version of grapics to see what BOINC actually doesn't like?

Chip Type: ATI RADEON 7000 Series AGP 4X (0x5159)
DAC Type: Internal DAC(350MHz)
Mem Size: 64Mb
BIOS: BK7.8.1 VR000.000.007.008.001.001.001.00-y
Driver Date: 10/26/2004
Driver Version: 6.14.10.6490
CATALYST Version: 04.11

OS: WinXP Home SP2 (05.01.2600.00)
CPU: Intel P4 2.8 GHz (HT off), 512Mb RAM

BOINC ver: 4.25
Projects: S@H 4.09 (scrsvr setup like Paul's "Classic emulation")

Problems: (1) major, (1) minor
Major: On WinXP Display Properties - Screen Saver menu, there is a check box for "On resume, display Welcome screen" or "On resume, password protect" (name depending on Fast User Switch enabled or disabled). When this is NOT checked, get graphics OK (see minor below). When this option IS checked (the way I use it) and screen saver "times in", get box saying "...screen saver loading..", then screen goes blank.
Minor: Sometimes the graph displays to the right of the box (whether as screen saver or from BOINC Manager "show graphics"). Continues to refill to the right until graphic is stopped then restarted. I think is happens mostly on first display of a new work unit, but I'm not sure about that.

Other than that, pretty impressd by graphics. Not going to try 4.19 because I like the "shared installation" (even thou it will only for "admin" logons, not "user" logons - can this be fixed ?).

I have a different graphics problem. I randomly get an error box with a message like this:

The instruction at "0x69404532" referenced memory at "0x000044" The memory could not be "read".

or

The instruction at "0x69s9858e" referenced memory at "0x000000" The memory could not be "written".

I get this on my two systems that have ATI Radeon boards. These two errors happened n the system with
RADEON 9600 SERIES, AGP
Bios: 113-A03509-100
128MB
Driver version 6.14.10.6238 (has happened with many older driver versions)

Boinc: 4.25
Setiathome 4.09
climateprediction.net 4.10
ASUS P4C800-E motherboard
P4 3.00 Ghz, HT disabled
Windows XP Pro, SP2

I have had this problem through all version of BOINC, always with Seti and never with climateprediction. It did not occur with classic Seti.

It does not occur on my Dell Latitude C400 laptop or Dell GX270 office system, neither of which have ATI boards.

As for the inactivity blank screen, it seems that the screen is blank after the inital 10 minutes of inactivity until the screen save timeout elapses, and then the graphich screen appears.

See my original post in this thread for system details, which was posted on 25 Mar 2005 23:38:37 UTC.

I wanted to add some information to the problem of SETI@home 4.09 and the BOINC Manager 4.25 on my Windows XP SP1 system not showing graphics when activated as a screensaver.

If the screensaver is configured to require the user's password to be entered when the screensaver is interrupted, then the SETI@home graphics are not displayed. If no password entry is required when the screensaver is interrupted, then the SETI@home graphics are displayed. BOINC 4.19 would show graphics when password protection was enabled in the BOINC screensaver.

I don't know if this is related, but my current SETI@home graphics preferences are "Minimalist". In the previous version of BOINC (version 4.19), when the screensaver was running, only a simple box with the BOINC logo and a message that BOINC was running would be displayed in random locations on the screen. With BOINC 4.25, the "Minimalist" graphics are a lot more intensive, which looks a lot more like the SETI@home Classic graphics (except with 3-D graphics).

ATI AIW RADEON 7500 64MB
Driver Version 6.14.10.6517 02/22/2005
WinXP HE SP2
BOINC 4.25
Einstein 4.79
No graphics on Einstein since Windows Update updated the video driver last week. It was working prior to that.
Climate (4.10) and SETI (4.09) seem to work fine with the new driver.

BOINC Manager v4.25

At WindowsXP Pro. SP2 startup, BOINC Manager briefly pops up maximized then is minimized to the tray. Can't figure out why it is doing that. Also, Projects periodically disappear. Under the "Projects" tab, there is nothing listed. When I try to reattach to a project nothing happens. Nothing shows up still under "Projects" tab.
