I have been getting messages similar to these for 24 plus hours. I have to dial in so I can't stay hooked up waiting. Hello and welcome, You arrived at a not that fine time, especially for new dial-uppers. I can't help you with the problem atm, but I'll try to explain: Due to some major outage (caused by the ISP, not by Seti-team), there is now a major congestion on the data highway @Berkeley. The last message says, that you contacted too soon before. This is a precaution to prevent DoS attacs, you have to wait some time between two contacts, I think it was something like 10min. That's not so fine for dial-up in times of congestion, but otherwise it's a good security item. BTW: The (very good) manual for Boinc is the BOINC Powered Projects Documentation by Paul D. Buck and the FAQ therein. Gruesse vom Saenger For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki |
