As You can see from the details below, I cannot get any files from any source to upload. This is a fresh install of boinc and at present i think it is pants. I am sure you may have answered this question elswhere but i do not have the time or patience to traul through thousands of other problems. Please can you help, i like to do my bit and am happy to do work units from all boinc partners but cant get any to work. i would go back to the original seti@home but no point going backwards and you say you will be abandoning it in the near future anyway. Many thanks for your help

Dear Brett Pledger,

We have at the Question and answer area a keyword search. It is just under the upper dark blue bar.

A search for "Master File Fetch Failed" brings you this as result.

To answer your question: the error is indicating there is a connection problem. This can be due to firewall and/or proxy and/or router misconfiguration.

What OS are you using?

Do you use a Firewall?

Read the News at the homepage

It can also be general server overload, but I suspect that this is mostly over from the most recent outage.
