I'm using a laptop, with an Intel Centrino CPU. The CPU fan is only audible when the CPU is being worked at a high rate, say, 75%. When it goes higher with BIONC, whilst there's no performance loss, the laptop gets very hot and much noiser. I'd like to be able to limit the BOINC process somehow, so it never uses more than say, 75%, of the CPU time.

:-)

This is one of the settings available to you on your account setup. You'll have to find the URL yourself.

Which setting is it? I have these settings:
Do work while computer is running on batteries? no
Do work while computer is in use? no
Do work only after computer is idle for 3 minutes
Do work only between the hours of (no restriction)
On multiprocessors, use at most 2 processors
Write to disk at most every 60 seconds

Where is the setting to limit CPU use? Am I looking in the wrong place? I went to http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/ and chose 'Your Account'.

Thanks :-)
