is it just me or are these message boards/forums a bit rough round the edges, perhaps using something like phpbb2 etc would be better.

the sorting options are counter intuitive and confusing , and seem not to follow "the conventions" of most forums.

i run a phpbb2 forum and the sofware is free as far as i know so there wouldnt be a cost invloved.

i notice that these pages are php generated so whoever is doing it all manually may save lots of thime using a prebuilt package ...

dont get me wrong, its all cool and works ok and i for one appreciate the effort, but there other better options in my opinion

regards

Yea could add a bit more 'life' into these forums, like avatars, smilies and some coloured, bold, italic font. :D
I mentioned smilies in here ages ago :), but i use them any way.

Avatars and smilies are irrelevant. As you can see, bold and italics are supported, as is color if you feel so inclined.

Yea, but on PHP forum, you select your text and click a button and done for you, people who are no good at HTML can't use these features, i know some HTML, Bold Italic, but Underline and strick through dont work :(
