Is there a possiility to merge the old accounts with the number of results of "SETI I" and BOINC? Or should they be gone wihtout meaning? I used the same profile name and use the same em@il address but the old results are gone cause of the new account ID necessairy for BOINC. |

> you can registar with your old acount, and get your SETI 1 wu and time shown, > first you must change the email of ur new account and sign up here with ur Yeah yeah yeah... but WHY in the hell is this so complicated ??? Backward compatibility is the PRIMARY thing to think about when you are writing newer version of a software. Cheers. |

I didn't think it was complicated. There was a link on the activation page that said if you wanted to activate your previous S@H account, click the link. How could it be simpler? And as for backward compatibility, there is none, nor was there ever intended to be. The old S@H client with BOINC is much more powerful, and flexible. To try and make it compatible with the old just would not work. <a> [/url] |

and again about merging the accounts I joined seti classic at the beginnig of July (after the snapshot of credits was taken) and then turned to boinc recently my old account wasn't found of course, so I created a new one i didn't know about that snapshot then and I now regret joining BOINC I could have stayed in the old project as well, and wait for another transfer of credits, before shutting the SETI classic down 55 WU-s aren't much but I would feel much more comfortable having the two accounts merged together, you probably know what the feeling is, there's something lost, and I'd like it retrieved, the possibility of deleting accounts and uniting few into one isn't hard to implement I suppose and in the account stats there can be information which wu-results has been linked from another account, so one cannot be given a billion results by their friends and overtake others and trigger the world war III off with this act ;) |
