I just compiled boinc core client on my old sparc station. Compilattion was very clean and the client seems to start ok but stops at "Resuming computation and network activity".
It seems to hang but it can also be a performance issue as the station is really old nd has a 40MHz processor.

does anyone have any clue what "Resuming computation and network activity" means and what it does?

Is that supposed to take a long time on a computer with a very old and slow system ?

Thanks

let me guess, it didn't ask you for project URL or account code when you ran the boinc client...

use a boinc source nightly tarball from 3/3 or earlier. its not a sparc issue, i got the same thing on other platforms with recent source. sparc/linux compiled and ran fine for me on the older code.

I'll give the nightly build 01/03/2005 a go. and get back after the several hours of compilation.
