I still use Boinc 4.19. Today for some reason I am not getting any more WUs. I was watching my WUs finishing and uploading one by one, but not getting any more. I kept updating the project, but the only response I got was Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded Before, when I was low, the message went out that said "might run out of work in 1 day..." but it's not happening today. Now I have no more Seti WUs to crunch. I am crunching other projects, but would like to see something from Seti. Any ideas? Is it something on my PC? Thanks! |

From your "my computer" page, what are your... % of time client is on % of time host is connected % of time user is active values? Seti is giving out WUs (at least to my hosts) |

% of time client is on 0.0083 % % of time host is connected 0.0083 % % of time user is active 0 % Yeah, I don't think that is right. I just checked, I'm not getting WUs from the other projects either. I rebooted my PC a couple of times this afternoon, but nothing has changed. |

> % of time client is on 0.0083 % > % of time host is connected 0.0083 % > % of time user is active 0 % You are probably correct that the numbers are in error. There is no built in way to correct them with BOINC iteself, you will need to do the following: 1. Stop boinc 2. Use a text editor, such as Windows Notepad (it comes with every windows - Start Menu -> Programs -> Accesories -> Notepad) 3. Choose open file. 4. Navigate through the browse window until you get to where you installed BOINC. -- (normally this is C:\Program Files\BOINC ) 5. Open the file "client_state.xml" 6. Press Ctrl-F to open a find box. 7. Type "_frac" and then press Enter. 8. Correct the numbers between the < > pairs to represent the numbers (at the end of this message). 8. Save and close the file. 9. Start boinc again. 10. Tell boinc to "update" with seti project. <on_frac>0.999968</on_frac> - Fraction of each 24 hours your machine is left turned on. 1.0 = 100%, 0.50 = 50% <connected_frac>0.999968</connected_frac> - How often your internet connection is "on" or connected. <active_frac>0.800000</active_frac> - How much of each 24 hours BOINC gets to use your CPU (often the same as 1st number above) |

Thanks Benher! That did it! I am back in the game! Was it something I did that caused this problem? Thanks again! |

I believe it is on the list of known bugs for boinc, but since it doesn't happen often (once to me in 6 months with 5+ machines), it is a low priority fix for the team. We don't yet know what causes it. |
