When Irish Isles Are Smiling.......

There's not a leprechaun, shamrock, pot o' gold or Blarney's Stone in sight, but, faith 'n begorrah, this shaded relief map of Ireland from NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission reveals the topography of St. Patrick's island home in shades of glorious green.

Not quite here for me yet but I did just go out to get my beer. With a day off I decided to put one in the freezer already. I think I'll make it my lunch along with a couple of its case-mates. Here's to an early start!

Happy St. Patty's Day all!!

PLEASE be safe. Take a cab or have friends over and take their keys. I want to hear hangover reports not accident reports on Saturday.

By the way, many Catholic Bishops have given a special "thumbs up" to eating meat tomorrow even though it's Lent. So get to the deli for some corned beef. St. Patty's isn't the same without a big fat corned beef sandwich or a house stinking of corned beef and cabbage. Did the Bishops do this for their dioces or themselves?

LOL :-))))) .............. good for you Scarecrow .. way to go :-)

hi Scarecrow

thank you very much for your very kind words over at the NC tech thread

Scarecrow wrote the following --- here
Byron,

even at 65 years old - [ I still think am 18 years old ]

That big Five-Zero is rushing towards me with frightening speed, so I can relate... but lately my mind writes a lot of checks my body can't cash.....

I still go out and hike the mountains in the Yukon territories , Canada
I guess that is why I like being ...... a prospector ........ I can be alone ......... by my self

Made me think of a Steve Earle song, from The Horse Whisperer movie, I think....

"Some mornings will find me up above the timberline
Lonesome don't seem like much once you're this high
When it's all said and done I usually find
Me and the eagle are of the same mind"

At any rate, I see no harm, no foul with any of your posts. Hang in there, my friend.

thanks Scarecrow for
your very kind words over at the NC tech thread
at 65 years I'm the luckiest man in the world
-- Because -- any Day above Ground is a Great Day ____ :-)
Best Wishes
to every one
and Best Wishes to our poor old Planet Earth

Byron
:-)

Happy St. Patrick's day to all!

To be honest, this isn't a day we celebrate in Norway, so I don't know exactly what it is. But when you read this I've already catched up a little. :)

I visited Ireland in 2001 and enjoyed myself very much in a beatiful country with nice and hospitable people, who share an historical fate not much different from my country. So I had no problems relating to the culture and its people. And it was there I got the taste for Guinness beer! :)
