I went from 3606 to 5606 credits at classic and
just wondering if there will be other updates for that stat at some time. Like yearly.

See, I get my hands on other computers once in a while and just throw my pre-fabbed folder on it and do some crunching.

Edit:
Only because it shows on the new Credit pic we can download and print. :)

There will be one more update, when Seti Classic shuts down for good. That will be in a couple months.

This came up in the general meeting yesterday. We will re-sync the classic SETI@home stats at least one more time, if not soon and then once again once classic is shut down for good. We understand how off-putting it is to see old numbers in that field. There's a lot of user-account cleanup we need to do..

Edit: expect a revised "migration from classic to SETI@home/BOINC" page sometime soon.

I went ahead and setup my Boinc account outwith SETI classic. Now, they both have the same email address but they aren't unified, as it were. Will there be anyway of unifying them without loosing any of my credits - 30,000 Boinc credits and 11,000 classic units weren't easy to come by, and I wouldn't like to loose them :-(

Yeah, what he said. When I started up with BOINC last June my classic stuff didn't get migrated over, either. I have a lot more done since then, too. And, once again, this latest sync yeilded squat, too.

What gives???

How in the world can you have 11,000 Classic WUs after only 6 months? I do not believe your stats are correct. >:-/

Yo9u created a new account rather than migrating the old account, or you joined S@H Classic after May 14th 2004 (I can tell this by your sign up date). There may be a way to fix this eventually, but nobody is going to make any promisses.

Looks to me like this: When you came over to BOINC, you created a new account rather than activating you migrated account from Classic. I looked in you account and there's no listing whatsoever for Classic. If you activated your existing Classic account, here at BOINC, your Classics stats would show. Mine do. >:-/

EDIT:
I'm not real certain, but I believe that the first Classic migration took place in May 2004. I just looked into "Create Account" and it's different than when I came over here. It used to say that if you had an existing Classic account then click "here" instead of "Create New Account" or something similar. Hmmmm.... Me thinks that SETI bungled and screwed the remainder of Classic users, not in BOINC yet. >:-(

From the Home page:
------------------------------
Get started
1. Read SETI@home's rules and policies.

2. Ein SETI@home-Konto erstellen: (I've german version, it's 'create account' or so)

Already have a 'SETI@home Classic' account?
We've transferred it, just activate it.

Otherwise create a new account.

3. Download, install and run the BOINC software used by SETI@home.
------------------------------

What could be clearer?

Hm, if I was to move entirely back to SETI Classic...

~165 WU/day (sustained)
Give me 2 months... ;)

Exactly!! I did the "transfer and activate" thing when I started up with BOINC. Same account name, same account e-mail, no worky.

I have over 20,000 classic units completed. I'm gonna be one ripped mofo if I get screwed out of them....

I joined on Friday 28th May 1999 - http://setiathome2.ssl.berkeley.edu/fcgi-bin/fcgi?email=davidkmcw%40gmail.com&cmd=user_stats_new

Thats how I have gotten 11,434 classic units done. I peaked at position 19,500

I thought I would try to create a new Boinc account from the Classic site and it does see that I already have a Boinc account, surely if it sees it then it can unify it, somehow.

Mr. Sänger, I sit corrected. >:-/ I've been here so long that I don't bother looking at the front page any longer. And, upon further looking, clicking the "Participate" link shows what I saw back when I joined BOINC. I believe that SETI should have that page linked to the "Create an Account" menu selection as well, at least until all Classic users have migrated. Thanks for clearing this up for me. >:-)

I goofed up my switch from Classic to Boinc, too, so the nearly 25000 WUs I crunched for Classic will likely be "lost." However, I don't plan to think of it that way. They were crunched for SETI. So they can't really be lost. If it turns out there's some workaround, so be it. Otherwise, what is crunched is crunched and cannot be uncrunched.
Just my POV.

Dr. Bob, long time, huh? Have you looked at you account data lately? I just did and I saw a whopping 24,827 WUs crunched for Classic and 116,181 hours. They're not lost, my friend. >:-)

Off Topic.

Hiya Skip lol, funny reading you here, now.
I was just reading your's, and other's, posts from 2004 about basket setups.
How is all that going?

Anywho, seeing your name just seemed like a 'friendly face' when I peeked back into this thread.
