Suddenly(after almost 2 years) SETI is refusing to send more work. Says I don't have enough disc space allocated. I have 8 gigabytes allocated, but BOINC says only 5.37 megabytes for SETI and 20.78 megabytes for Einstein!! If Boinc and SETI don't get their act together soon it's SO LONG. Dr. K. R. Hill |

Hello Dr. Hill, what are your preferences regarding discspace? Mine are this: Use no more than 1000 GB disk space Leave at least 0 GB disk space free Use no more than 50% of total disk space Write to disk at most every 60 seconds Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory And AFAIK the minimum of the values is taken in account, thats the 50% for me. Gruesse vom Saenger For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki |

My preferences have worked fine for about 2 years. Now Seti is ignoring my preferences. I increased allocated disc space 3 times on March 14 but nothing changed. As a result I have canceled Seti which hasn't been worth much since going to BOINC. BOINC seems to be run by nerds who can't even spell "completed". Compared to the World Community Grid (where I run the Proteome Folding project 24/7) it's a joke. So far Einstein@home has not had any problems but if it does then I'm through with it and BOINC. See My Seti profile for my opinions on the project (not good). P.S. In my working days I traveled a lot to Germany (love it). |
