Message 85728 - Posted: 13 Mar 2005, 17:33:44 UTC

I have been running Seti@home Classic succesfully, I keep trying the BOINC version and get all sorts of problems as I am not a command line wizard. I am now trying SETI Control but keep getting the following message.
I know ther have been several posts for this problem but none seem to fit my situation.

I am running a single processor eMac with OSX 10.2.8

Can anyone help

Jon:
The problem is that you are using OS 10.2.8 - the BOINC stuff won't run reliably on anything less than OS 10.3.9 for most machines.

Some useres had this problem too. The cause was that the libgcc (libgcc_s and libstdc++) are not installed on the system.
You can check it with "ldd boinc_client" and "ldd setiathome-4...".

More infos in the thread http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=22123

This problem can occur on all unixes (also MacOS).
