Why do messages say processed with version 4.09 when the gui properties (both) say version 4.13

4.09 is the version of the seti science application. The current core client version is 4.25, 4.13 was about 3 versions ago. The versions are updated seperately since a change in one does not automatically mean a change in the other. Also a change in the seti app does not mean a change in the LHC app.

I don't understand.

What is the LHC app?

Why did the gui client not update automatically? Was not this one of the reasons for change?

Further enquiry shows seti major version 3 and minor version 8 (in version.sah). how does this tie in?

BOINC is more than just S@H. Since each of these projects is developed independently, there is no attempted coordination of version (except that the major version of everything must be the same or major trouble ensues).

S@H = SETI@Home - applicatons S@H with AP (AstroPulse) comming
PP@H or P@H = Protein Predictor @ Home - applications MFold and CharMM
CPDN = Climate Prediction.Net - only one application (possibly more in the future)
Pirates - about a dozen different applications
LHC = Large Hadron Collider - only one application.
Einstein - only one application.
BURP = Big Ugly Rendering Project (in Pre-Alpha) - don't know what applications there are.
Alpha = BOINC Alpha testers (by invitation only)

One of the future projects has about a dozen applications.

There are more comming. Join the ones that strike your fancy. Joining more than one will allow you to ride out outages better than a large queue.

There is a list here or in the left pane if you click my sig.
