Results dating as far back as August 2004 have yet to be purged on 3 of my computers. [ids: 223209, 224298, and 354904]

I have been waiting to delete these machines from my list for ages and the thought occured to me... I might not be the only one in this bind.

Given the sheer volume of records in the database, would it not be prudent to investigate the reason these results have not purged and correct the situation?

Is their presence causing problems with credits or statistics or something? Otherwise, I can see no reason for SETI to go out of their way to fix something, especially if it's only purly aesthetic.

SETI has been purging completed results in an effort to keep the size of the database under control. If results are not properly purging, the database is artifically large. It is in their own best interest to investigate the reason their purge application is not performing as expected.

Hello to: __ Pete49
Hello to: __ Scooley01

==============================================
File_deleter is responsible for deleting all wu & result-files for"done" wu from upload/download-directory, and apparently had a bug earlier.
Db_purger on the other hand should normally run every 7 days after file_deleter has done it's job, and archieves and deletes wu/results from the BOINC database.
The db_purger has AFAIK has not run since upgraded to the new db-server, not sure why but it can be for testing-purposes to make sure everything is working as it should with the new server.

==============================================
The db_purger have AFAIK not run since the BOINC-database moved to the new server, meaning many results that should have been purged is still showing up.
For some reason it also looks like db_purger isn't removing wu that have errored-out any longer, even when running. Or, it's possible one or more of the results is incorrectly marked as pending so some fix must be done, before db_purger will remove these wu.
Lastly, there are at least 2 types of wu "stuck", a fix-script must be run on the db to try to re-start these, but most of them will probably error-out. But, till things stabilizes, it's not a good idea to try re-starting them, and even worse idea till db_purger have started again.
