I find it interesting that my one lonely computer is (at least for now) generating more credits than many folks with multiple computers running SETI. I'm thinking that perhaps there should be seperate catagories for those running just one computer and those running multiple computers. It sure would give those of us with just one computer running SETI a nice little boost in a general feeling of contribution. |

I find it interesting that my one lonely computer is (at least for now) generating more credits than many folks with multiple computers running SETI. ========== Well it could be that they are not even running any WU's at the moment. Lots of people have signed up but are not really running from the Site yet ... |

Just curious as to what kind of computer you have that crunches so quickly. I noticed in your profile it/they is hidden. |

If your talking to me Hank I have a 3.2 P4 HT & a 3.06 P4 HT plus a older PIII 850...between the 3 of them I can put out about 30 WU's a day, which is really not a lot compared to some of the Big Boys running Seti but enough to satisfy me anyway... :) |

Gotcha. I misunderstood you in that I believed you only had one computer that was producing the amount of work. Sounded like some kind of super computer. |

Hank386, Rapscallion is the one saying his computer is generating more credit than many people with multiple computers. I was just informing him that it may be that they are not running the Project yet is the reason he can claim that. Actually both my 3.2 & 3.06 have each put out more than more than his computer & my 850 PIII is not that far behind him. I un-hid my computers so you can verify that if you want to. |

It been really tough getting work units with the servers being up and down. Hopefully the good people at Berkeley will have that straightened out soon. |

> You certainly missed my point PoorBoy..... but it doesn't matter. Keep on > crunching > Your point about multiple computers and those with only one computer is a possible one but not a probable one. The problem is that while I have 7 crunching at the moment, with more to follow, I am still doing it one by one. AND I am adding to the possiblilty that others actually get their credits quicker! I do understand your point about 1 computer only but maybe you could start a group that ONLY allows individuals with 1 computer to join. That way they would compete both as a team AND as individuals against each other. Oh...and BELIEVE ME your ARE contributing! Without the single user contributer the multiple computer users would have to do ALL the work, and that just isn't possible!!! Without people like yourself this project is doomed! |
