It looks nice, but is it stable?

Yes it is stable.

I downloaded it a few months ago and it keeps my kids entertained for a few minutes every now and then.

It's 600MB install size on you hard disk though and a DSL or other broadband link is necessary for the screen updates when you zoom close into any part of the globe.

Some of the search features can be a bit cumbersome and the USGS haven't surveryed my part of the UK to 1m yet.....but then again I don't pay US taxes so what can I expect.

Take a look for Arecibo

Richard.

Okay Richard, thanks. I'm thinking about getting it, but it seems to be quite large, and there is a reference to bit torrent on the NASA download site. I don't trust bit torrent.

Not really a bittorent right now. Looks like a straight download using bittorrent. The more people downloading the faster it can go. 0 upload.

I think there is maybe an accidental mis-quote here.

I have no opinion either way on bit torrent. Looks like maybe Ksnash left my name at the bottom of his message when he commented on bit torrent.

Anyway to sum up, for me, World Wind appears to be stable, it's fascinating and a useful educational aid. It can be downloaded from the Nasa site direct.

Enjoy,

Richard

Thanks for clearing that up then Richard. Okay, I think I'll just go ahead and get World Wind then.
