Stats might not mean everything to everybody - but it is nice to see where you're at. I was all the way up to 11555 the other day and the UC Berkley stopped sending WUS. I've slipped attrociously. (boo hoo) But my biggest gripe is that we provide free computing power to a university in the USA that tries to trell the world it is a leader in information technology, yet it can't get a simple scheduling task done (the scheduling task is getting the WU's to the people who want to process them). Berkley is using our computing power to enhance their own reputation. We get treated like the IT slaves while they spruke about how good they are. If you have a serious doubt about their IT capabilities ie providing WUs to the distributed somputing network, write to them at http://www.berkeley.edu/ and choose a department to aim your complaints at. If more of uis do this, we might just get the respect we deserve for providing the biggest distributed computing network the world has ever seen tony the man from the land down under |

Hey, I just installed the 'boinc-thingy', as Aurgelmer called it, but I am uninstalling it now. Suggestion: Seti team must have as soon as posible a version with password. I can't have a screensaver without it; I need it. The new one, btw, is really ugly. Another suggestiion: call the 5 million of contributers for screen design suggestions, of course in the end this is like a credit card contract: love it or leave it. But maybe you got some nice designs, make more people participate, be in the news one more time, etc. To finish: I really liked to be here doing my very small part during the last years, Thankk you all. |
