I'm running a dual boot linux/Windows configuration on my laptop. I plan to spend mostly equal amounts of time in both systems, but there is always the chance I might stay in one OS longer than the other. I was wondering if it was possible to set up BIONC in linux (since this probably will be my secondary OS) so that when I boot into linux, BIONC will start working not on new WU's but on the same ones I was just crunching in Windows. So no matter what OS I'm working in I'll still be crunching the same files. Any chance of this? |

Sorry, but you can't share work units between different system configurations. |

It seams to me that there would be a way to run BOINC on a dual boot system and use the same BOINC queue for booth windows and linux. Some linux users are running wine so they can use the windows version of Einstein. So if you install boinc on your windows partition and use wine to run BOINC under linux then IMHO it would be possible For information on how well wine is working for them check out this thread. http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/forum_thread.php?id=1208 |
