A glass of wine or two a night, is supposed to be good for you. Beer is about the same (1-2 nightly good). The medical community knows this, but they don't like talking about it (the whole addiction thing).

Still looking for something profound or inspirational to place here.

I'd say that might be one glass too many, but that's a decision for you to make.
I myself drink about 2 1/2 liters of water a day + 1Coke + 3 coffees.

Ya I think the health benefits of alcohol have become a little fuzzy over the years.

The amount is one 8 oz glass of RED wine per day.

Not beer, not vodka, not white wine and not the 40oz Flight of the Valkaries Bier Stein I have on my shelf filled with my favorite stout. (bummer)

If it's more than that, you're drinking it for a different reason, which may be okay, but you need to be clear about what you're doing.

I drink LOTS of water and a little coffee and then beer on the weekends. I can drink GALLONS of Guiness Extra Stout, I love the stuff... but I usually just have 3 or 4. Damn, now I'm thinking about beer. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!

I used to drink a lot of coffee, but I gave it up (caffeine that is). I now drink de cafe and get the same caffeine high off of that! Is the decaffeination process bad for you? I heard that it is like using dry cleaning chemicals (1-1-1 tri-chlor. Etc.).

On the weekend, I brew about three gallons of tea and put it in the refrigerator as my supply of Iced Tea for the week. I use Alton Brown's (Food Channel) method of brewing. It comes to about 1.5 L per day. That would be a lot of coffee, but for tea, it's not much of a problem (for my system).

He also said "Early to rise / early to bed / makes a Man Wise / but Socially Dead"...

Beer is for the World Cup. You've got 90 minutes to finish off two liters and smoke a pack - And there are strong penalties if you don't (You pay).

But coffee is good anytime - When it's 40°C in the shade, when it's -40° in the Sun, and every season in between :-)

Actually only the really cheap coffees use Formaldehyde. The better coffees use a water filtration system the swiss developed.

I'd rather speak my mind because it hurts too much to bite my tongue.

No, it's not bad. I don't like getting drunk either, but it's been 11 years for me. I have a bottle of micro-brew beer about 4 - 5 times per week, usually a wheat beer or some other one I've never tried. Guinness is good, but I don't buy it often. Also, sometimes some red wine on the weekends, maybe a bottle a month. Then there's the hard liquour just for sipping. Almost anything except gin.

Have given up caffeine the last 3 months. Don't miss it, but do miss a good hot cup of coffee with the morning paper. Can't bring myself to drink decaf.

A woman and a man are involved in a car accident; it's a bad one. Both of their cars are totally demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt. After they crawl out of their cars, the woman says, "So you're a man, that's interesting. I'm a woman. Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but fortunately we are unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live together in peace for the rest of our days."

Flattered, the man replied, "Oh yes, I agree with you completely!"

"This must be a sign from God!" The woman continued, "And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune."

Then she hands the bottle to the man, The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle and then hands it back to the woman.

The woman takes the bottle, immediately puts the cap back on, and hands it back to the man.

The man asks, "Aren't you having any?"

The woman replies, "No. I think I'll just wait for the police..."
