Not only that, but I think people should wake up and read other threads before making new ones.

Huh?

Oh....sorry.

I think you had to be there...... This morning it seemed like every 4 minutes someone was starting a new thread to bitch about not being able to upload. At that time all one had to do was read any of the first 6 posts at the top of the list to find out that they weren't alone.

You rock Timmy

What happens - people who post the questions to the board, or the two or three people who "bitch" (to quote one) at the people who ask? Nobody's perfect, and berating them doesn't help. I started one of those threads hoping for an honest answer because I used the search engine and didn't get any results back. I Got sarcastic response instead. If you don't like seeing six posts on the similar topic, close your web brower, step away from your computer, "and have some coffee...."

Thank you for your time :-)

Yes, a pot of caffiene and a case of Jolt cola should calm things down.

What's the big deal here. It's not a contest to see how small we can keep the message board. There are language, computer, and technical knowledge barriers here because this is an international project (at least the participation is.)

Sure, there are repeat threads and some people don't take the time they have to check if their question or "take" has already been posted. Just ignore them or add a "refer" message.

Contrary to what you may think, the request is not entirely without merit. I have been here for quite some time and over that time I have seen as many as 3 or 4 threads started, all on the same page and all of the same subject. It's getting quite ridiculous. I have even seen identical threads on different boards here.

Tonight, I wanted to post a message about something I read and could not remember where I read it. I searched until I found the proper place to make my post, out of consideration, even though there is probably no thread with a discussion of my subject.

It's only out of consideration, to other post[ers] here, that one would post in an existing thread, and not start a new one just to start a thread of their own. That, in my opinion is why we have so many identical threads, because people think: "Oh, I can start my own thread here, cool."

The person making this request is my friend and I believe it to be a valid, reasonable one. Though, so many people ignore it and do what they want anyway. Pathetic....!

We're not talking 6 threads on similar topics, we're talking 6 threads of the same topic. It's not that hard to figure out: I can't upload, I'm checking the boards. Ok, where? Number crunching sounds right. [Looking at thread list.] Ahh, someone else is having the same problem. [Go to that thread.] I post my message adding my 2 cents. Easy....

If you happen to get any sarcastic responses, they're probably from some of the trolls that frequent these boards to create trouble. The majority of people here will give you a decent response.

Dom, you're not a dumb broad! And, caffiene and Jolt make me jittery. ;-)

@Ziggy: You had to go and do it! Red T'Bird. Now I'm seeing red T'Birds all over the place. :-)

funny. first of all I'm pretty sure a thread has already been created, asking people to read threads before they start new ones - so, a new one is ok? *lol*

secondly, I find it remarkable that this kind of thread is started in stead of posting a message in one or more of the threads in question - I mean, this thread is actually ment to remind poeple to keep the amount of unessesarry threads down, and yet the thread itself is unessesarry..

and to make things even worse - it's a thread with the message in the topic-line - actually making it a topic with no message..

ahh yes, great job *thumbs up*
