Hi Capt Avatar ;op

You are right, but let me say: I'm not as dumb as it seems (well, I'm not even smart, maybe)...

Before posting, I checked the titles of recent posts, even opened some thread with lookalike problems... I found nothing.

Then, I read your reply.

I decided to use the search tool, and another thread with the same title appeared. You also pulled everyone's ear in the meanwhile, calling for a wake up.

Here's the situation: I found out that the sorting of thread was with most posts first (I don't remember setting this).

Maybe this is the reason for so many of us not seeing previous posts on similar problems?

Hi Arielk, That is a good explaination, So everyone must set thier settings upper right hand side, to most recent posts first... I have not set mine for a year it has not changed.

Anyway, I am sure because of past exp. that the team will do their damndest to
fix the problem. I know the team takes this all to heart and will do everything in thier power to fix it.

Tim

Also, some threads drift or morph into areas not clearly displayed in the title (but contain good or helpful information.) And, some people simply don't have the time to read every post every time they have a question or problem.

[AOL]Me Too[/AOL] FWIW, the "status" page now shows pretty much everything except "data driven websites" and the 2 of the three splitters as "offline," so that gives me cause to hoep they'll get it up and running again soon! I just wish they'd take 5 minutes to post something on the news page stating "we know we've got a problem, we're working on it" and either "we know what the problem is and we're working to fix it" or "we're not sure why we're having this problem, and are investigating the problem" (or something like those.)

The data server failed around 20:30 UTC for the third time in as many days. The project will be down as we continue to diagnose the problem.

The error message has changed, no log files involved any more.

SETI@home - 2005-02-18 13:27:51 - Started upload of 03ja05aa.22720.5185.154846.132_0_0
SETI@home - 2005-02-18 13:28:33 - Temporarily failed upload of 03ja05aa.22720.5185.154846.132_0_0
SETI@home - 2005-02-18 13:28:33 - Backing off 2 hours, 30 minutes, and 15 seconds on transfer of file 03ja05aa.22720.5185.154846.132_0_0

But perhaps with every available server on the sever stats pages in red, the CC just doesn't get any reply.

BTW: Anyone with more connections to the inner circle with news about this main outage?

It's 0530 at Berkeley. I would imagine they're all in bed (not together). ;)

Be lucky

Why not ;-))

But you're probably right, I like to suppress that, living here at UTC+1.
