Server Stats seems to be in ok condition, so what happens now? It's getting to be a bad habit with seti@.

I've got no problems contacting the Scheduler, but for the last 4 days i've been getting a lot of errors when trying to return results.

I just got a new SETI Client version 4.09 at 0100 UTC. Maybe there is a large server load as it hands out the new client software?

I am also seeing deferred uploads.

Yup. Looks like there's a new version of the project application, at least for Windows.

I wonder if there might also be a Berkeley bandwidth issue along with the server load. The app and the pdb files are about 5MB. Mulitiply that by everyone who wants them NOW and the weakest link will bottleneck data transfers.

Of course I also wonder what is different with the new version :-)

Laryea,
if the "No schedulers responded" error occured only today, simply wait 'til the client manages to connect or try to "Update" several times and see if it vanishes if you are a modem user and don't want to leave your computer connected for a long time.
If the problem persists, it might be a more serious problem (probably due to high latency / network speed issues) with no easy solution. Check the thread

Rachel,

Since it is a Science Application it will download and install/be used for new work downloaded.

There does seem to be issues when the servers become heavily loaded.

Here's my solution:

Just leave BOINC running in the taskbar and don't open it to look at the work units. Just leave it there for 3 days and after 3 days open it and everything will be working smoothly :)

It's my firm opinion that most server "burps" are blown out of proportion by overzealous Seti participants. Seti was meant to run either as a screen saver or just in the taskbar, utilizing spare computer resources.

However, a small percentage of the users open Boinc every 2 minutes to see what's up. As such they see small server "burps" and go crazy and post on the board about them. I know they're well-intentioned and are just passionate about the program. However, most Seti users just leave Boinc alone and don't even notice these little "burps."

I'm one of them;-)
At least atm, as I just started Einstein and am eager to get my first wu out.
And, I do not like my machine go online on itself. I always disable netaccess hwen I'm not here. When enabling again I see those little burps.
